This self-catering holiday let is in an enviable spot, close to the beach and just a stroll away from the pretty Old Village area of Shanklin, Isle of Wight. It offers spacious accommodation on one floor, and has a home from home quality about it.
The flat is situated on the second floor of a 1970s built apartment block surrounded by communal gardens and grassed areas, flowers and plants that are nicely maintained and properly tended. Has security controlled access into the lobby interior, and stairways (no lift) that take you up to the internal front door of the property. Neighbours are a mix of permanent residents, second home owners and other holidaymakers. Subsequently the feel is relaxed and friendly, so is ideally suited for couples, or family groups looking for a traditional, English seaside break in attractive surroundings.
Recently refurbished, the accommodation houses a hallway/dining space, kitchen, bathroom, cloak room, two bedrooms, and a living room (with ceiling fan and sliding patio door) to the balcony with cast iron patio furniture in situ. Electrical checks and certification is up to date. Electric heating. Decor throughout is contemporary with plain, neutral tones and a ‘splash’ of vibrant colour is introduced in each room by the wall hangings and window dressings etc. Flooring in the living spaces is a mix of laminate and light coloured carpet which provides clean lines.
Good lighting, and the feel overall is airy and bright; homely but not cramped. The kitchen has half tiled walls and is well equipped, including washing machine, dishwasher; fridge-freezer; electric hob and oven; microwave; iron; toaster; all utensils; cookware; dining implements and so on. The kitchen also has a window with a pleasing aspect. There is a dining area adjacent to the kitchen, with table and four chairs. The bathroom is tiled, floor to ceiling, and has a modern shower and cubicle, and this room as well as the cloak room have extraction fans working. There are many extras, for example: good storage and hanging hooks for coats, plus games console and board games. Towels, tea-towels, toilet tissue, soaps, and washing up liquid/dishwasher items are supplied.

We feel this is perfect, self contained accommodation suitable for all-year round holidaying and offers something for all ages. Is in a prime location within the town of Shanklin. If you have own transport or otherwise this is ideal as a base because it allows easy exploration of the island – Shanklin is part of major bus routes and has main road running through. The flat is suitable too for those who prefer to relax and stay put, as it is close to beach and all amenities and has everything required in and around to make a either short stay, or longer, enjoyable, whatever the weather. Note: this holiday home is only a few hundred yards from the beach; the road to and from the sea front is inclined.
