Information we received states that Stur was created to incorporate more water into the diet and it states that Stur Drinks are made solely with natural fruit and tea flavours and are lightly sweetened with natural Stevia leaf extract. The idea behind the product is to encourage people, who do not particularly like the taste of drinking water (particularly tap water), to flavour their natural water and so are able to enjoy the health promoting benefits that drinking MORE water can bring. We believe it to be true that Stevia leaf extract is fast becoming a real alternative to using sugar in food and drink production. Fruit juices and fruit flavoured squashes have a higher sugar content in comparison, and because Stur it is sugar free it has zero calories and will not cause damage to teeth enamel when in contact with it.
Available in six natural tea and fruit flavours specifically designed for UK consumers – Peach Tea, Lemon Tea, Cranberry Pomegranate, Orange Mango, Green Apple and Blackcurrant Apple. Each squeeze contains 100% RDA of Vitamin C and are suitable for vegetarians and vegans.
So definitely lots to brag about but at the end of it all much will come down to the taste test. Let’s discover tester’s outcomes by reading the short reviews below by five contributors. NOTE: All reviewers carried out their tests as a flavour booster to natural water alone, but the word is that Stur Drinks can also be used in baking and to flavour mineral water, ice cream, yoghurt and smoothies:
Heather S (and her family) from Fife says:
We tried the orange mango Stur first, and we all agreed it was really tasty. The tea and peach was the one that really surprised me though, I wasn’t sure how I would feel about tea flavouring in water but I have to say I loved it. I found it really refreshing with no chemical taste. The real surprise though was my fizzy juice loving son, I was delighted when he gulped down one glass after another and then asked for more, really pleased that he has found a natural drink he loves, will definitely be taking this on picnics.
While the word from Francesca G of Durham is…
I was sent two flavours of Stur to try; cranberry pomegranate flavour and green apple. Although it was recommended to use one squirt, I liked an extra one in my drink just to give a bit more flavour. So it is very unlikely they will last me the full 30 servings. The green apple was my favourite and I actually found myself quite fancying another glass regularly throughout the day. They were perfect size to carry in my handbag which is ideal. I would happily start drinking more water now I have some tasty flavourings to mix with it. Plus having different flavours meant I wasn’t getting bored just drinking water all the time.
Read this feedback about Stur received from Janis M and her work colleague in Edinburgh:
I’ve seen quite a few of these little bottles of water enhancers around. I’ve never tried them as I’ve been convinced they would be full of all things bad for you. I was pleasantly surprised that Stur have no sugar and are full of vitamin c. My Stur arrived when I was at work so my colleague and I put them to the test. He tried the apple and blackcurrant and I had the lemon tea. He was really impressed. It’s not a strong flavour though; we were expecting something a bit like diluting juice. The effect you actually get is like flavoured water.
The lemon tea was really good, again not to strong but a nice addition. I really like that they are small enough to pop in your handbag. The only downside was the packaging. They are a bit tricky to get the plastic off the top without ripping the whole wrapper off. Aside from that I was really pleased with them.
Here is another short review of Stur from Becky W and her young family in Lincolnshire
The palm size bottle’s are perfect for changing bags, handbags, and thinking ahead to warmer weather, picnic baskets! We taste tested the Green Apple and the Blackcurrant & Apple flavour. I must say I wasn’t a big fan, they tasted to weak for me but the children loved them! Jenson, 3, says ‘I love the blackcurrant flavour it’s so juicy!‘ Ellie, 10, said ‘I like them both the same and I like the squeezy bottles and that I can do it myself without worrying about putting too much in a glass’. My 1 year old and 2.5 years old loved them too! As a Mum the fact that it contains 100% of Vitamin C daily intake, along with no sugar and no calories means I don’t have to worry about ‘nasties’ that are in some other drinks they enjoy.
Lastly, a few wise words from Adele S from Surrey
I’ve come across the brand Stur before and I think that their concept is great. I loved both flavours I was sent but I personally loved peach and tea the most. I found it so light and refreshing. You also don’t need too much of the concentrated juice so you get plenty out of a tiny bottle. An absolute 10 out of 10 for me!
Good points made everybody, thank you!
