Santa’s Christmas Party Jigsaw Puzzle 1000 pcs – Product Review

The artwork involves 2D skills, from sketching out the design to hand painting. Artist, Trower (from Devon UK) uses a mix of water-colours, gouache and pencil colours. His designs do not include computer software manipulation or enhancement The Theme The theme is Santa and equally Mrs Claus (as it is for an advertising campaign running for a certain multinational high street retailer this Christmas #LoveMrsClaus) So we have a hat less Santa in a dance hold with his dear wife and they are gazing lovingly into each others eyes. So it is a romantic setting in snowy world with lantern lights hanging down from the top which creates a warm glow which illuminates all the creatures big and small, the partying elves and the foodie treats. THE ROCKING HORSE ADVENT CALENDAR FROM PRESTAT – Product Review

Prestat is looking after us grown-ups this Advent ROCKING HORSE ADVENT CALENDAR WITH Dark Chocolate (with sea salt) and Milk Chocolate (with caramel) 8.47 OZ – 240g Individual Prestat chocolates are stunningly presented in the Advent calendar format of a chocolate treat per day (for the 24 days of Advent) designed to engage one in the growing sense of anticipation as we count down the days of December to Christmas Eve. If you’re a celebrator of the Christmas season and a ‘joiner in’ of these kinds of festivities you will appreciate all this has to offer. Prestat is looking after the grown ups again with this lovely package. Why? Well, because we get the dry sense of humour of the story that comes with it and its ‘keep your hands-off they’re my chocolates!’ message, and, we’ll not be distracted away so easily from the view of this thing on the mantelpiece, also, and more importantly, we will definitely savour the luxury of the chocolates better! The packaging features bright and richly colourful Kitty Arden artwork (Prestat’s …

Large Scale Wooden Carrom Set – A Product Review

If you grew up in the Eastern world, in India particularly, you will be no stranger to the game Carrom. In the States, well they would match the concept as being very similar to pocket billiards, and to us in the UK and Europe we would think the rules are very much like a game of Pool. When it comes to Carrom we can play singles or doubles too, however, there are no cues, no balls, and ‘strikes’ are made with a flick of the finger on the side of the Striker piece sending a Carrom coin into any one of the four pockets. Under review is the Wooden large scale version of Carrom from Garden Games Disclaimer The board is made from wood of a decent quality and finish (underneath : a wooden framework with pockets made from synthetic material stretched across every corner). Everything is well planed and smooth, no splinters, and with the Carrom design (the striking lines, the flower etc) in black and red it is very pleasing to look at. The …

Chatsworth Country Fair on Saturday 03 September In Pictures (in the Rain)

The thirty fifth Chatsworth Country Fair was opened yesterday in a Grand Ring Opening ceremony (Friday 02 Sept) by the Country Fair President, Jessica Ennis-Hill, the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire and Wholefood Warrior, Eva Humphries Our choice to attend today (Saturday 03 Sept) turned out to be a folly on our part with the weather being the overriding thing. The same view shared by everyone else involved and attending this day, I’m sure. Bet the wellie boot and umbrella sellers made a killing! These pictures really convey a damp few hours spent at an organised grand event in the English countryside. They have their own charm however, because of the inclement weather. Enjoy viewing them: DOG’S DAY CELEBRITY COOKERY DEMO EXHIBITOR STANDS CALL THE CAVALRY! Chatsworth House is Toad Hall this Christmas! *When The Toad came home! There was panic in the parlours and bowling in the halls,   There was crying in the cow-sheds and shrieking in the stalls. When the Toad— came— home!       When the Toad— came— home! There was smashing in of window and crashing in of door, There was chivvying of weasels that fainted on the floor , When the Toad— came— home! Bang! go the drums! The trumpeters are tooting and the soldiers are saluting And the cannon they are shooting and the motor-cars are hooting, As the— Hero— comes! Shout— Hoo-ray! And let each one of the crowd try and shout it very loud, In honour of an animal of whom you’re justly proud, For it’s Toad’s— great— day!** *words above are TOAD’S LAST LITTLE SONG! written by Kenneth Grahame – author of the classic novel Wind in the Willows Mr Toad and Mole Ratty and Badger are part of the novelty features for Christmas at Chatsworth 2015 This event runs until 3 January …

Salted Caramel Milk by Shaken Udder

Being a previous TSS Business of the Month See here it makes us happy to continually keep our TSS readers abreast of Shaken Udder news and of the festival trailer unit’s whereabouts during festival season (two September dates remain) Also, and the real point to this post, is the fact there’s a new flavour edition to the Shaken Udder family, one of a growing range of flavoured milk drinks in bottles/cartons available from major UK supermarkets and online, and not just selling from the milkshake trailer at events TSS Says This new milk, is a salted caramel blend, and it is, simply, grown-up delicious. Caramelization is the science around that which occurs when you heat up sugar. To avoid using sugar, and to choose, instead, to use something artificial to achieve a caramel flavour would be a wrongful choice (ed’s view). As there is much interest and discussion about the high levels of sugar in food and drink, it is a debate we are never going to ignore when reviewing foodstuffs. So, while acknowledging there is a bold use of …

Profiling filmmaker Brendan Modini

About Brendan Modini Shortly after graduating in 2014 Modini travelled to Kenya to work with others as part of a scheme to write and direct his first documentary called Slum Dreams. Modini saw the rest of the year out by travelling around, visiting many countries in an effort to be challenged and inspired by his experiences and to use them to channel his thoughts and thinking in a kind of free minded form of curatorial practice. Gathered content includes the 2015 – Show Reel (see below); the video clips document life at home in Sydney, Australia and of being abroad. Watch it and then pitch Modini as being one who is able to channel his intelligent self expression in his film making 1. a 2015 Show Reel   The following is an example of Modini’s versatility, and it reveals that he has aptitude for putting together content which not only has the best kind of comic pacing, but is visually elegant. For his writing, directing and editing Modini achieved not one, but two, Best Comedy …

Femfresh Pocket Wipes – Festival Themed packs

A short, but concise review of Limited Edition FEMFRESH pocket wipes   I was a first time user of the Femfresh wipes but I’ll definitely be purchasing them again. The pack is a handy size and the floral design meant that they looked just like a pack of pocket tissues when I popped them in my bag. My daughter has been using wipes to freshen up since she started her periods a few months back and promptly took a pack for her school bag to take to summer camp. They are perfect for the summer heat and although I am highly sensitive to anything on my skin after using I was left feeling refreshed without any irritation. Consider me converted!  By Guest Blogger Amy W from Wales. Femfresh pocket wipes – Festival  addition are available now at Boots, Superdrug, supermarkets and chemists nationwide. All products are dermatologically and gynaecologically tested

Shaken Udder – TSS Business of the Month for April 2015

A food and drink categorized company features as a Business of the Month once again, and, as it is the time for outdoor events to take centre-stage we thought it apt to feature a business, which, in its infancy, were booking their retailing space at almost every UK main music event happening and were selling flavoured milkshakes in disposable cups with straws which went down a treat with thirsty festival goers; and continues to do the rounds today! The Shaken Udder festival unit is booked again for this summer’s festival calendar 2015, but what else has happened with the business in the between years exactly?     The business has grown to be much more than a refreshing drink geared for the party crowd alone. After some tweaking with the recipes and the business plan,  founders Andrew and Jodie (a husband and wife partnership) produce three flavours of bottled milk drinks (300ml): Vanilla (Vanillalicious), Chocolate (Chocolush), Banana (Top Banana), and Chocolate and Banana flavours appear again in the smaller carton packs for children (200ml) …
